Apple Is Hosting Another Hardware Event the Day Before Halloween

Apple has announced its next hardware event, which will be held next week on Oct. 30.

The next Apple Event, subtitled “Scary Fast,” will stream online on Apple.com at 5pm PT / 8pm ET. As with previous Apple announcements, the company did not specify exactly what will appear at this next hardware event. Though we are unlikely to see more details on the Apple Vision Pro, the company’s first mixed-reality headset will be released early next year.

They’re reason to believe, however, that the forthcoming hardware event will focus on Macs. Earlier this week, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in his Power On newsletter that Apple is planning to release a new 24-inch iMac.

A model refresh to the iMac is long overdue. The last time the computer was updated was in April 2021 when it featured several colorful variant options, updated cameras, and, most importantly, ditched Intel CPUs in favor of the M1 chip.

With the tagline “Scary Fast,” it is not completely out of the realm of possibility that Apple may announce the iMac with an M3 chip. iMac remains the only Mac computer that is still rocking the M1 chip that was originally released back in 2020, as the MacBook ProMacBook Air, and Mac Pro computers all were updated to include some variation of the M2 chip.
