Gamers across the country have been raising much-needed funds for cancer research, with charity live streams already fetching tens of thousands of dollars.
The Game on Cancer campaign has been off and running for the past two weeks, with streamers jumping online to host live gaming events while raising money for charity organisation Cure Cancer.
Emily Dalton, who goes by the online alias 1UpEmily, has been a regular Twitch streamer for years and said she has big plans for her streaming event.
“We are going to play a number of fun games with the community like Gartic Phone, and also check out a few new titles thanks to Koch Media.
“It should be a lot of fun for everyone that tunes in,” she told 9News.com.au

This is Dalton’s third time streaming for Game on Cancer, who has been personally touched by cancer.
“This is such an important stream to me so we can raise awareness and funds for lifesaving cancer research,” she said.
“My hope is to raise as much as I can with my community.”
You can support 1UpEmily’s quest to raise money for Cure Cancer by visiting her stream on Wednesday at 7PM AEST over on Twitch.
The event officially kicked off on National Superhero Day back on April 28, and ends on May 11.
Game on Cancer has raised over $450,000 by streamers for Cure Cancer since it began in 2019. More information, as well as details on how to donate, can be found on their website.
