Three Victorian brothers who have played the same combination of lottery numbers for 40 years have finally had the picks pay off, winning more than $500,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The trio’s ticket represented just one of 10 entries that won the Division One prize of $511,318.20 in Saturday’s draw, with the winning numbers called as 28, 7, 36, 1, 42, and 22 with supplementary numbers 14 and 11.

“The win will be shared between my two brothers and me,” one of the brothers, who all come from Richmond in lockdown-hit Melbourne, said.
“It’s a great amount of money. It will be a nice bonus. We play every week. We’ve been playing these same numbers for 40 years.
“I don’t remember why we chose these numbers exactly. All I know was 40 years ago we each wrote down numbers and selected a ticket to play. We’ve been playing ever since.”
The brother said when he realised the numbers had won, he spent 10 mins double-checking them to make sure he wasn’t getting the life-changing news wrong.
“I just wanted to make sure it was confirmed and re-confirmed before I told them,” he said.
“Once I realised it was true, I had the honour and pleasure of telling my brothers we were division one winners.
“It was a great feeling to be able to call them and let them know.”
The winning entry was bought from the Winning Post store on Swan Street in Richmond, owned by Paul Vo and Loan Nguyen, who say they’ve sold tickets to three jackpot winners since February last year.
Among the 10 jackpot-winning tickets on Saturday, four were bought in Queensland, one in Western Australia and one each in Victoria and Tasmania.
