Meet Melbourne content creator and number one female gamer in Australia and New Zealand, Loserfruit.
From bedroom streamer to global gaming icon – Loserfruit even has her own Fortnite character to prove it.
Now she’s made new ground, partnering with one of the biggest toy brands in the world, LEGO.

Her real name is Kathleen Belsten, but Loserfruit has been her online identity since 2013, with the 29-year-old shooting to stardom by playing the hugely popular online battle royale game Fortnite.
“It’s a dream! I’m lucky to have a job where I can be entertaining and silly, playing games and sharing my life and funny moments with a huge audience,” Belsten told 9News.com.au
And she’s not lying, her audience is huge.
With more than one million Instagram followers, nearly four million on TikTok, and 3.5 million on YouTube, her videos amass hundreds of thousands of views every day.
Loserfruit – it’s an odd name to some, but Belsten says while it sounds silly it’s something she adores.
“It really is a bit of a meme. I had a group of friends who had a fruit clan and I thought it was stupid so I said I would join and wrote the name Loserfruit,” she said.
Growing up, Belsten never thought she’d be where she is today, but says she always knew she wanted to be a storyteller.

“I got into content creation early while I was still studying journalism at university. When I graduated I was fortunate enough to be able to move into content full time,” she said.
While Belsten may not have picked up a cadetship at the local paper after university, she can only imagine what she’d be doing if her online career didn’t take off.
“I’d like to think I’d be putting my degree to good use and working in journalism or maybe doing something in the gaming industry,” she said.
So what’s the next step for a content creator of Loserfruit’s magnitude? Belsten says while she loves what she’s doing now, she’s got a solid backup plan.
“To be honest I’m just happy to continue doing what I’m doing but I would like to do some more voice acting or maybe create my own game one day.” she said.
Belsten is now inspiring a new generation of gamers and streamers.
“Honestly it’s kind of crazy. I’m really glad that I can inspire and encourage young gamers, and particularly female gamers, to achieve their goals.”
“I’d like to be someone I think I would have looked up to when I first entered the space”.
Loserfruit’s work has piqued the interest of countless big brands in the past few years, but it’s her most recent signing that has her excited.
She’s now teamed up with LEGO Group as a global LEGO play creator, something she says she’s really proud of.

“I’ve been playing with LEGO since I was a toddler and I continue to build new sets to this day. I think with my gaming career I’ve always been an advocate for play and how important it is to stay creative,” Belsten told 9News.com.au.
“My very first LEGO was from the DUPLO theme, LEGO but for toddlers, because it’s bigger. I would continue to build with DUPLO for hours, even after I was a toddler.”
“As I’ve grown up I still love to play with LEGO and just playing in general. I’ll always be a big kid that just wants to play!” she said.
Loserfruit is helping LEGO celebrate its 90 years of the brick with an eight-week video series alongside the likes of Alicia Keys.
