The Legend of Zelda and God of War headlined massive showcases from Nintendo and PlayStation this morning after both developers skipped E3.
Their reveals were the cherry on top of an already jam-packed week for gamers.
On Sunday, Ubisoft unveiled their new Assasin’s Creed lineup. The reveal included an all-new game set in Japan, a new open-world mobile game set in China and we got a new look at the latest game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is coming sometime next year.

On Tuesday night, Nintendo held their latest Nintendo Direct showcase, and PlayStation fans got a new State of Play on Wednesday morning.
We saw Splatoon 3 release on Friday, Elder Scrolls Online got an update with Firesong, as did Fallout 76, with DLC The Pitt officially releasing.
Gaming studios are now gearing up for Tokyo Game Show next week, straight off the back of Germany’s Gamescom. Can we catch out breath now?

PlayStation
God of War: Ragnarok
Not long to go – God of War: Ragnarok is less than two months away. PlayStation showcased a new story trailer for the game. God of War: Ragnarok is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5 on November 9.
PlayStation also announced a Ragnarok-themed DualSense controller.
PlayStation Stars
Details on PlayStation’s rewards program, known as PlayStation Stars, were unveiled. The program enables players to collect digital rewards for performing daily tasks, then display them in a virtual display case.
Hogwarts Legacy
PlayStation gamers will be thrilled to know that the PlayStation version of the game comes with an exclusive quest: The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop.

TEKKEN 8
TEKKEN is back after more than seven years, and by the looks of things, this classic fighting game has had a big glow-up. All footage shown in the new trailer is from the in-game engine according to PlayStation.
PS VR 2
Hype around the PS VR 2 is building, despite no release date just yet. PlayStation showed new gameplay for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Enhanced Edition. Strategy tabletop game Demeo is also returning in VR.

- Stellar Blade, formally known as Project Eve, now has a title. We also saw some new gameplay.
- Rise of Ronin, will be a new action RPG set in Japan by Team Ninja.
- Like a Dragon Ishin, is a new action-adventure game by the creators of Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
- Pacific Drive. New details and gameplay were shown for this driver-survival game coming to PlayStation 5.
- Synduality, is a new sci-fi third-person shooter.
Nintendo
The Legend of Zelda
We now know the official title for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel! It will be named The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, launching on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
Pikmin 4
Pikmin 4 was unveiled by legendary game developer Shigeru Miyamoto, who shared that the new Pikmin game is coming in 2023 for Nintendo Switch. This game was originally announced in 2015 but we hadn’t heard much else about it until now.
Fire Emblem: Engage
An all-new Fire Emblem game is coming to Nintendo Switch early next year. Fire Emblem: Engage is set to release on January 23.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land: Deluxe is a remake of the 2011 Wii U game featuring multiplayer for up to four people and is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 24 next year.
Resident Evil
Four Resident Evil games are coming to switch via the cloud, including Resident Evil Village (8), Biohazard (7) and the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes. The games will be available to play on October 28.
GoldenEye
The classic N64 title is coming back with online multiplayer! It’ll soon be available through Nintendo’s Expansion Pack subscription service. Also coming to Nintendo Switch Online: Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, 1080° Snowboarding and Mario Party. Xbox also announced on Wednesday that the game would be coming to GamePass in 4K – minus the online multiplayer.
