GTA 6 fans are genuinely worried about dying before the game comes out

I’ve said it before, but it remains true. The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI continues. We know that Rockstar Games are hard at work developing the game and have been for quite some time. It’s nice to know that progress is being made, but that doesn’t stop the wait from feeling never ending.

It’s been well over a year since Rockstar officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto VIs existence. Much to Rockstar’s dismay, fans got their first look at the project during a major leak that took place last September, after the studio was targeted by a cyber attack. Over an hour of development footage made its way online, alongside screenshots and source code. According to a recent earnings call, Rockstar are seemingly targeting a 2024/25 release – and fans of the franchise think an announcement is being teased in a recent GTA V update. With no concrete date in sight though, some GTA fans are worried they’ll die before the game is actually released.

GTA VI is rumoured to be set in Vice City. This incredible mod may give us an idea of what to expect.

Over on Reddit, user swifto12 wrote, “Is anyone else having genuine anxiety about dying before GTA 6 comes out? I drank two cups of coffee this morning. My heart fluttered a bit and my first thought was, ‘Oh god, please no. Not before GTA 6.’ I am 28 years old. I feel ridiculous.” Don’t worry, my man. Plenty of fellow fans soon flocked to make the user feel less alone.

RedL0bsterBiscuit said, “Im 39 right now. I expect to hit AARP age before it does. GTA 6 will likely be the last game I ever play in the franchise. I definitely expect to be dead before GTA 7 happens. It’s depressing to think about,” while Wolverine2397 added, “I do all the time.” ToloDaDon commented, “S**t I’m 43 and have played all of them since the series began. I feel the same way OP.”

Some have pointed out that the OP may have been joking, but it’s clear that plenty of fans in the comments are very serious. Come on Rockstar. An update for your loyal followers?
