Aussie actor Martin Copping the face of latest Call of Duty instalment

Oz Comic-Con kicks off in Sydney this weekend, bringing in the man behind the explosions in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Aussie Martin Copping plays Lucas, an expert demolitionist, in the game’s campaign which he has been streaming online via Twitch.
“It’s kind of surreal, watching yourself while playing as yourself, hearing your voice and seeing yourself get blown to pieces,” Martin told 9News.

“It’s a weird thing — but it’s pretty special.”
It’s not the first time Martin has used his acting chops for a video game, but the character he played in Rainbow Six Siege didn’t share his rugged looks.
“He doesn’t actually look like me. He has red hair but he doesn’t look like me,” Martin shrugged.
This time around, it’s his face on the Call of Duty billboards, plastered on buildings in New York’s Times Square, after Martin’s humble beginnings on the set of Neighbours
“I was chipping away in Australia for 15 years without getting where I wanted to (before moving to LA),” he said.
“It’s been getting better and better and now I’m on a billboard in Times Square (laughs).
“I kind of wish I’d seen it in person.”
When he did see the billboard while driving in LA, however, things almost ended badly.
“I missed my exit but didn’t stack the car thank goodness,” he said.

Martin is working to sell his latest film The Dunes and has just started his next feature script, but has more video games in his future too.
“With all of the streaming platforms around now, the amount of content is limitless. The only thing stopping you is yourself,” he said.
“I’ve just started writing today my next feature film script, I’m super excited about this story.”

Having spent Thanksgiving in Los Angeles, Martin flew back to Australia this week and will greet fans at Oz Comic-Con in both Sydney and Melbourne.
“You still get the nerves and think maybe no one will come to my booth,” he laughed.
“This is my first Comic-Con so it’s really nice to be doing it in Australia.”

  1. I am a website designer. Recently, I am designing a website template about gate.io. The boss’s requirements are very strange, which makes me very difficult. I have consulted many websites, and later I discovered your blog, which is the style I hope to need. thank you very much. Would you allow me to use your blog style as a reference? thank you!
